The Documentary: Gypsy - From Romania To America. Take a journey with us to Romania to reunite this family with their siblings, which were seperated and placed into orphanages over two decades ago.
Young Ildi was only 2 years old when she was dropped off at the orphanage. Her brothers were also placed in orphanages as well, but on opposite ends of the country. Now, many years later, Ildi knows of four brothers, two sisters, and a father that hasn't seen her since she was an infant. Many of them have been separated for the past twenty years. Most of her siblings now have children of their own, and living day-to-day with very little food, clothing that doesn't keep them warm and no health care. Ildi's closest brother, Shawne, his five children and two grandchildren, are homeless, but because they're Roma-Gypsies, nobody cares.
Following up on the two newspaper articles written about Ildi's family, this heartfelt documentary journey's to Romania to complete this already-in-progress story and finish putting it to celluloid, and to reunite all these brothers, sisters, children & grandchildren after 25 long and painful years.
